Gabri Veiga has been linked with a move away from Celta Vigo, with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United interested.

According to a report from Fichajes, Premier League giants Arsenal are now looking to submit an enquiry for the 20-year-old midfielder at the end of the season. Apparently, they will face competition from Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid as well.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the most promising young talents in Spanish football, and he has established himself as a key player for Celta Vigo this season. The midfielder has eight goals and three assists to his name in La Liga, and his performances have caught the attention of several top clubs.

Veiga has the potential to develop into a top-class player. So it is no surprise that clubs like Arsenal are chasing him ahead of the summer transfer window. He could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for the Gunners and would improve them in the short term as well.

The highly-rated midfielder can operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. His versatility will be an added bonus for Arsenal. Arteta will be able to rotate players like Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli with someone like Veiga at his disposal.

The Spanish midfielder is capable of influencing proceedings in the final third from a number of positions. And a top-class coach like Arteta could help him improve further and develop into a world-class player.

Apparently, the midfielder has a €40 million release clause in his contract. And a club with Arsenal’s resources should be able to afford him if they are truly interested in signing the player. The reported release clause could prove to be a bargain if the 20-year-old continues to develop as expected and fulfils his world-class potential.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can beat their Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United in the transfer race. All clubs are capable of triggering the midfielder’s release clause, and it might come down to game-time assurances in the end.

The 20-year-old will want to join a club where he will get to play regular first-team football. But Arsenal might not be able to offer him such assurances. On the other hand, clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United need a central attacking midfielder, and they might be a better fit for the player right now.

As far as Real Madrid are concerned, Veiga is unlikely to be a regular starter for them right away. So a move to the Spanish capital might not appeal to the player just yet.
