West Ham United eyeing up a move for Niclas Fullkrug

West Ham United in advanced talks to sign Ibrahim Osman.

West Ham United are reportedly keen to bring Bundesliga top scorer Niclas Fullkrug from Werder Bremen in the summer.

According to Sport Bild via Sport Witness, West Ham United could target Niclas Fullkrug next summer to improve their attacking options. The Hammers currently have three first-team senior strikers in their ranks, but two of them could depart after the season.

David Moyes has come under tremendous pressure to get positive results out of his team. West Ham are steadily slipping into the relegation fight, and he could lose his job if results falter. Much of the blame for their inefficiency on the pitch has been blamed on the lack of goals.

West Ham did not envisage enduring a difficult season after finishing yet another campaign in European places. Moyes decided to invest heavily, but those players still needed to deliver despite being of a high calibre. One of those is highly-rated Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca.

The Italian has contributed seven goals across all competitions, with only three in the Premier League. West Ham could sell him next summer if a sizeable offer arrives. Additionally, with Michail Antonio’s powers on the wane, the club may need a new striker.

Werder Bremen star and Bundesliga top scorer Niclas Fullkrug has emerged as a target for the Hammers next summer. He did sign an extension with the German club until 2025, but reasonable offers from the Premier League could turn his head.

West Ham are in the market for a new striker, with names like Anthony Martial linked with a move. They might consider the Frenchman’s massive injury record before signing him, but Fullkrug could become an option. The German international starred at the World Cup briefly, but at 30, he is an experienced striker.

Many also consider him a late bloomer and could have a few years at the top level. West Ham could see him as a viable option, although they have a similar target man in Danny Ings, who arrived in January. The report insists €15 million should prove enough to tempt Bremen into selling.

The price range may prove manageable for the Premier League side. If Fullkrug provides immediate results, he could prove a good investment for the London club. For now, the Hammers will continue exploring the market for different options but will keep tabs on the Bundesliga’s top scorer until the season ends.
