Manchester United are looking for a new number nine ahead of next season and would prefer Harry Kane over Victor Osimhen.

According to The Guardian, Manchester United will prefer signing England skipper Harry Kane over Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. The Red Devils are keen on signing a new striker ahead of next season and have their eyes set on the Tottenham Hotspur star.

United have done wonders under their new boss Erik ten Hag. The Dutch manager has managed to revive the club since arriving. He has already won a trophy at the club and is still in contention for three more.

Ten Hag’s team are all set to return to the UEFA Champions League next season. And, the Dutch manager has already identified key areas that need strengthening in the summer. He is keen on adding a midfielder as well as a striker ahead of next season.

As far as a striker is concerned, the United boss wants a world-class proven talent. Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane are part of his potential targets. However, as per the report, Manchester United will prefer signing Kane over Osimhen.

The Napoli striker has been on fire in the ongoing season. He is currently leading the Serie A top scorer award but is not the preferred option for the Manchester-based club. The Red Devils prefer Harry Kane as he has been doing it in the Premier League for years.

While Osimhen might take time to settle in England, Kane pretty much guarantees goals in the English top flight. And, on top of that, he will form a great partnership with England teammate Marcus Rashford.

Kane has been a part of the Tottenham setup since his youth days. The 29-year-old striker is Spurs’ record goal scorer but might want to leave them ahead of next season.

The Spurs striker hasn’t won a single major trophy in his career for either club or country. And, he might look for a move elsewhere in order to win an important silverware. Manchester United are trying to build a winning project under Ten Hag, he could surely help their cause.

However, it won’t be easy for United to sign the 29-year-old. Tottenham won’t let him leave in the first place but if they do agree it will be for a huge fee. Kane wanted to leave in the past for Manchester City but he wasn’t allowed to. As a result, it will be interesting to see what happens this time around.
