Premier League giants Manchester United are keen on signing 20-year-old full-back Amar Dedic ahead of next season.
According to 90min, Manchester United have their eyes set on Red Bull Salzburg full-back Amar Dedic. The 20-year-old full-back has been putting in impressive performances of late, and a lot of clubs across Europe have their eyes set on him.
Dedic has been a part of the Salzburg youth setup since 2015. He has gone up the ranks and has also had a few loan moves elsewhere. The 20-year-old returned to his parent club ahead of the ongoing season. He has had quite an impact at the club since returning.
The Bosnian international has grown in stature and is a regular at the club at this point in time. Dedic has made 27 appearances in the ongoing season and has five goal contributions to his name. He has been quite impressive on the right-hand side of the pitch with his overlapping runs and perfectly timed tackles.
His performances have not gone unnoticed. And, the Manchester United scouts who have been present in the stands have been impressed by the Bosnian. The Red Devils have identified the 20-year-old as a great option and looking to push for him in the summer.
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag has done a wonderful job at the club. They are well on course to return to the UEFA Champions League next season. And, Manchester United have identified a few positions that they need to strengthen in order to challenge for the Premier League as well as the Champions League title.
The Dutch manager is looking for a new right-back. He wants to add another attacking right-back to his squad. Ten Hag has not been that impressed by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who is a defensive-minded full-back. Wan-Bissaka’s future at the club is uncertain and as a result, ten Hag wants to add Dedic who is a bit more attacking.
Dedic’s current contract with Red Bull Salzburg ends in the summer of 2027. However, they might let him leave if they receive a hefty fee for the 20-year-old. The Red Devils are eager to have him and the club and are willing to spend in order to resolve the right-back issues.
However, it will be interesting to see if they manage to land him at Old Trafford given the interest from elsewhere. Meanwhile, Manchester United have also shown interest in other right-backs, including Jeremie Frimpong.
