La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are reportedly considering offering €25 million to sign Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense.
According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona will look to sign Vitor Roque in the summer transfer window. And an offer worth €25 million might be on the cards from the Blaugrana. But Athletico Paranaense will demand much more than €25 million to part ways with the Brazilian wonderkid.
Vitor Roque has set the stage alight during his formative years. The 18-year-old spent some of his youth career with Cruzeiro before joining Athletico Paranaense last year. And he has gone from strength to strength at the Brazilian club in the last twelve months. The youngster was also on fire as Brazil wonder the under-20 South American Championships.
A regular for Athletico Paranaense, the Brazilian wonderkid has chipped in regularly with goals and assists. Vitor Roque’s exponential progress at Athletico-PR has captured the attention of several top clubs. And the teenage prodigy is a target for Barcelona, among other bigwigs.
The Blaugrana signed Robert Lewandowski last summer, with the Polish striker scoring goals for fun. But the former Bayern Munich talisman is well into his thirties and nearing the final phase of his career. So Barcelona will need to lay down a succession plan for the veteran centre-forward. And Vitor Roque has emerged as a top target for Barcelona.

The Brazilian wonderkid is only 18 years old and already showing a lot of maturity in his game. And he can initially learn the ropes from Lewandowski before taking over as the first-choice striker. Recent reports have also claimed that the youngster is prioritising joining Barcelona when he leaves Athletico Paranaense.
The teenage sensation also recently insisted that he feels ready to make his mark for Barcelona. And it looks like the Blaugrana will soon launch the offensive to sign him. The report by Fabrizio Romano now suggests the Catalan giants are ready to offer around €25 million for him.
But Athletico Paranaense will not accept €25 million for the highly sought-after striker. So Barcelona will have to break the bank – considering the never-ending financial woes – to prise Vitor Roque away from the Brazilian club. It will be interesting to see how much they are willing to offer.
