Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is fully committed to the club and not interested in leaving in them in the summer.
Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport that Mohamed Salah is committed to Liverpool and is not looking to leave them in the near future. The 30-year-old has been linked to a move away from the club of late. But, Jacobs believes that those are just rumours.
According to Jacobs, Salah will be a part of Liverpool ahead of next season irrespective of their presence in the UEFA Champions League. He said, “The links of a Mo Salah departure are basically just rumour at this point, and my understanding is that Salah remains fully committed to Liverpool and Liverpool remain fully committed to Salah.”
“He hasn’t hit the same goalscoring feats of seasons gone by, but I think that’s also down to the fact that Salah at his most prolific had a lot of talent creating space and linking up with him.”
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s men have been struggling in the ongoing season. They are currently sixth in the league with 39 points out of their 24 matches. Finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League is going to be a tough task for Jurgen Klopp.
However, they have surely bounced back of late with three wins and a draw in their last four league outings. As per the reports, Salah has been linked to a move away from Liverpool if they failed to qualify for Champions League football. But, Jacobs believes that the Egypt international will be staying at Anfield irrespective of where they finish in the league.
Salah joined Liverpool back in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma in a deal worth £34 million. The 30-year-old has since gone on to become one of the world’s best. He has helped the Merseyside club win the UCL as well as the Premier League. He is amongst their best players, and the club would surely want him to stay.
The ongoing season has not been that great for the former AS Roma forward. But, a lot of it is because of the lack of quality around him. The 30-year-old forward has 29 goal contributions in 36 outings. With Klopp set to sign players in the summer, expect Salah to be back at his best next season.
Meanwhile, the Egypt international penned down a new deal worth £350,000 per week last July. His new contract with the Merseyside club ends in the summer of 2025. With a few years still left in his contract, Liverpool will have the upper hand in the negotiations.
It won’t be easy for the Merseyside club to sign a replacement for the right winger. As a result, Liverpool won’t be willing to sell him. Salah has already won the Champions League. And he is expected to stay at the club irrespective of where they finish in the league.
