Manchester United and Tottenham are chasing Alessandro Bastoni, as they could take advantage of his contractual situation at Inter Milan.

According to Inter Live via Sport Witness, Alessandro Bastoni could get important offers from Premier League clubs if Inter Milan cannot find an agreement to extend his deal. Contractual troubles are brewing between the defender and the Serie A side as Manchester United and Tottenham wait in the queue.

Alessandro Bastoni is steadily becoming one of Italy’s most sought-after defenders of this era. The 23-year-old Serie A star has already set sights on the national team berth to replace Leonardo Bonucci for the long term possibly.

Meanwhile, the huge issue of solving his contractual issues with Inter Milan is stalling a potential new deal. Due to his growing stature within the team, Bastoni demands a significant salary, which the club hasn’t matched.

Inter-CEO Giuseppe Marotta has an excellent relationship with Bastoni’s agent, and they have countered with an offer they might consider suitable. However, with their proposal unlikely to meet his financial demands, a few in the Premier League could offer the money required to prise him away.

Manchester United could approach and even table a significant pay rise to tempt Bastoni. The 23-year-old Serie A star has significant interest from English clubs, with Liverpool one of the sides keen. Erik ten Hag could reinforce his backline with a promising defender, with the Italian certainly having a good profile.

Ten Hag already has an established option in the left-sided role with Lisandro Martinez. However, with the club looking to take the next steps, the manager might need to bring in a viable competitor for the Argentine.

Financially, Manchester United can offer him an important contract, but Inter could keep fighting to renew his deal at the San Siro. Meanwhile, Tottenham are also reportedly keen on the Italian. The 23-year-old Serie A star has been on their radar since Antonio Conte came here.

Conte enjoyed a successful period with Bastoni in his backline as Inter won the Serie A under his reign. Whether the Italian remains at the helm remains the question, but the club could yet target the defender to shore up their backline.

They desperately need a top-quality centre-back to have consistency at the back. They even considered a part-exchange deal to tempt Inter, considering Bastoni will have two years in the summer. A big part of their chase will depend on Spurs getting Champions League football next season, which remains a tight race.

Tottenham could consider themselves behind the front line of other clubs, including Manchester United, who could tempt Bastoni. However, the defender might prefer to stay put in Italy, but the temptation of the Premier League cannot be discredited for any player.
