Sevilla are keen on signing Donny van de Beek in the summer window, with Manchester United likely to sell the Dutch midfielder.

According to Fichajes, La Liga giants Sevilla are interested in a move for Donny van de Beek during the summer. The Manchester United midfielder is out of favour and could exit the club if the Red Devils receive reasonable offers from suitors.

Donny van de Beek was considered a landmark signing when Manchester United paid €40 million to sign the Dutchman from Ajax. After a bright start to his career at Old Trafford, the midfielder soon fell out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and endured a similar plight with Ralf Rangnick.

He spent the latter part of last season on loan at relegation-threatened Everton but barely made an impact at Goodison Park. He returned to Old Trafford with renewed optimism and played a part under new manager Erik ten Hag, who he knew well from his Ajax days.

While ten Hag would have wanted to see the player he managed at Ajax, he has not found any suitable place for the midfielder in his team. The €40 million Manchester United midfielder has started only twice this season and is currently sidelined with a knee injury.

A transfer away from Old Trafford seems imminent for the Dutch international. Sevilla had shown an interest before January and could revive their chase of the €40 million Manchester United midfielder. Whether he would like to join the Spanish side remains the question, but even other La Liga teams have kept tabs.

Sevilla are not having a good season as they languish closer to the relegation zone than the top half. If they revive their campaign and finish considerably higher, they could make a few signings in the summer. Van de Beek could prove a good buy for the Spanish side. But much will depend on the midfielder’s willingness.

The Dutchman is not the only Manchester United player Sevilla are interested in. They are also keen on Victor Lindelof and Alex Telles. While they could manage to keep the latter at the club, signing the former and van de Beek may prove difficult for Sevilla, considering other clubs might be coming in for the player.

Van de Beek may not have a future under ten Hag, who will look to bring in a new midfielder in the summer. For now, possible interested clubs will take note of how the Dutchman recovers from his knee injury and then make a possible approach to Manchester United if things seem right.
