Manchester United are reportedly looking to bring in a proven goalscorer at the end of the season, with Dusan Vlahovic a top target.
According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Manchester United are looking to sign a top-quality striker. And 23-year-old Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is on their radar.
The Serie A giants paid around £62.8 million to sign the 23-year-old striker from Fiorentina. But his move has not gone according to plan. While the Serb has put up decent numbers so far, Juventus were probably hoping he would take them to a whole new level.
The Italian giants are going through a difficult phase right now they could miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification following the deduction of points because of their financial misdoings.
Missing out on Champions League football would be a damaging blow to their finances, and Juventus could look to sell some of their players in order to balance the books. Vlahovic is certainly an asset who could fetch a considerable amount of money. And it remains to be seen whether Manchester United are prepared to break the bank for him.
Apparently, the Red Devils have set aside a significant amount of money for a quality goals scorer. And Vlahovic could prove to be a superb long-term addition. The 23-year-old has the physical and technical attributes to succeed in the Premier League, and he could be the target man Manchester United have been crying out for.
Marcus Rashford has been leading the line for Manchester United this season. And the England international has been in sublime form. The 25-year-old has 25 goals across all competitions and he has helped Manchester United win the Carabao Cup already.
However, the England international is more suited to the role of a wide forward. And the arrival of Vlahovic will allow Rashford to play in his natural role on the left flank. Erik ten Hag needs to bring in another reliable goalscorer after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, and he cannot rely on Rashford to bail the side every week.
Vlahovic has the potential to develop into a world-class goal scorer, and ten Hag could help him fulfil his tremendous potential. Juventus’s defensive approach is clearly not helping the Serb’s game, and he will certainly benefit from playing in an attacking system at Manchester United.
