Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo from Barcelona.

According to Fichajes, PSG are considering a potential €90 million move for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo at the end of the season.

Ronaldo Araujo has developed into one of the best defenders in Spanish football, and he has been a key player for Barcelona. There is no doubt that the Uruguayan international would be a quality acquisition for the French club.

It is no surprise that PSG are looking to bring in defenders at the end of the season. Marquinhos is the only reliable centre-back at the club right now, and PSG will have to add more depth and quality to their defensive unit. Sergio Ramos is in his twilight years, and Presnel Kimpembe recently picked up a serious injury.

Christophe Galtier will have to improve his defensive unit if the French outfit are to challenge for major trophies like the UEFA Champions league. Araujo can play as a right-back as well as a centre-back. And his versatility will be an added bonus for PSG.

Paris Saint-Germain have the financial resources to sign most players in world football. And it will be interesting to see if they can tempt Barcelona into selling the talented young defender. They have also shown interest in Vinicius Junior.

Araujo is yet to enter his peak years and is only going to get better with experience and coaching. The opportunity to join a club like PSG could be a tempting proposition for the defender. especially if they offer him a lucrative contract.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are going through financial difficulties. And it would not be surprising if they decided to consider a big offer, worth around €90 million, for the highly-talented defender. That said, he is their best defender, and losing him would weaken the Catalan giants significantly.

PSG have signed players like Neymar from Barcelona in the past. And it remains to be seen whether they can convince the Blaugrana to sell yet another top prospect to them in the coming months. The 23-year-old has all the attributes to develop into a world-class defender and could be the ideal partner for Marquinhos in the long run.
