Arsenal, Manchester City interested in Valentino Livramento

Premier League giants Manchester City and Arsenal are keen on signing 20-year-old Southampton full-back Valentino Livramento.

Manchester City and Arsenal are keeping an eye on Southampton right-back Valentino Livramento, according to Ben Jacobs in his exclusive column for Caught Offside. The 20-year-old full-back is a highly-rated player. And a lot of clubs are monitoring him of late.

Livramento is a huge future prospect, but injuries have been his major concern. Manchester City and Arsenal are pondering about signing him. But submitting an offer might actually depend on his fitness. The 20-year-old was very impressive last season. But back-to-back injuries have derailed his progress.

However, the top clubs like Manchester City and Arsenal are still interested in his services. And, if the English right-back manages to get back to full fitness, they might push for his signature in the near future.

Ben Jacobs said, “Tino Livramento is another intriguing option, who has had horrific luck with injuries. But Livramento will be monitored when fit with a view to a possible move over the next 2-3 windows by both Arsenal and Manchester City. And if he hadn’t suffered his injury he may already be at one of those two clubs already.”

The England Under-21 star joined Southampton back in the summer of 2021 from Chelsea. Ever since his arrival at St. Mary’s, he has done wonders on the pitch. But, injuries have made life difficult for the youngster.

Livramento was a part of the Chelsea youth setup since 2009 but he couldn’t break into their first team and as a result, decided to join the Saints. He has featured in 32 matches and has three goal contributions for Southampton.

Chelsea have a buy-back clause in his contract. But, they are unlikely to trigger it, having already signed Malo Gusto. And, with a return to Chelsea out of the picture, a move elsewhere in England seems possible.

Both Manchester City and Arsenal are interested in the youngster. Mikel Arteta wants to sign a more attacking option at right-back. The Gunners will look to add a new full-back to their squad ahead of next season and have shown interest in Ivan Fresneda. And given the injury concerns of Livramento, he might miss out on an opportunity to join Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola also has a crisis when it comes to full-backs. But, his primary target will be to sign a left-back in the summer. However, he also needs a new right-back because Kyle Walker is not getting any younger. As a result, they might push for the 20-year-old if he manages to return to form after recovering from the injury.

Valentino Livramento is a highly-skilled player who has the potential to make it big. With two of the biggest Premier League clubs interested in his services, the ball is in his court. If the 20-year-old manages to return from injury in time and prove himself on the pitch. He might soon make a move to one of Arsenal and Manchester City.
