Manchester United are interested in signing 25-year-old Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel in the summer.

According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United want to sign Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel in the summer. Erik ten Hag wants to sign a possible David de Gea replacement in the summer. And, he has identified Kobel as a potential target.

Gregor Kobel has been sensational between the sticks for Dortmund. And his performances of late have attracted a lot of attention. A few big clubs across Europe are interested in his services. And, the Red Devils are believed to be one of the leading contenders.

However, Dortmund do not want to sell the Swiss goalkeeper. They consider him non-transferable at the moment. But, if they consider a potential transfer in the summer, he won’t leave for cheap. The German giants will ask for a fee of around €40-50 million for him.

Kobel joined Dortmund back in the summer of 2021. They paid €15 million to sign him from Stuttgart. Ever since his arrival at the club, he has gone from strength to strength. The 25-year-old has established himself as their undisputed number one and is one of the first names on the team list.

In the ongoing season, he has featured in 23 matches and has kept a clean sheet in 11 of those fixtures. He has only conceded 21 goals so far. It has been a stellar season for the Swiss goalkeeper and his performances have not gone unnoticed. Manchester United are keen on landing him at Old Trafford in the summer. Ten Hag is a big admirer of the player and wants him in his ranks ahead of next season.

The Red Devils are on the lookout for a potential replacement for David de Gea. The Spanish goalkeeper has been a great servant of the club. But, his performances of late have not been consistent enough. On his day, he is amongst the best in the world but at times his errors have cost United games. As a result, their interest in the 25-year-old is understandable.

The Manchester-based club are ready to break the bank in order to land the Swiss international. But, it will be interesting to see if Dortmund agree to sell one of their most important assets to the English side.
