Arsenal are eyeing a summer deal for Eintracht Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrom
According to Sport 1 via Sportwitness, Premier League giants Arsenal are keen on making a summer move for Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jesper Lindstrom at the end of the current campaign.
The 22-year-old has been one of the Bundesliga side’s top players this season. With nine goals and four assists in 27 games across all competitions, Lindstrom has proven himself to be a consistent operator. He appears to be ready for the next step in his career and could soon be on his way to the Premier League.
With the player considering a summer transfer, the path now exists for the Gunners to make their move. Mikel Arteta’s side are slowly yet surely coming together and find themselves in the midst of a title challenge. But as the recent 3-1 loss to Manchester City showed, there is still work to be done.
While several players have contributed to Arsenal’s success this season, some like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli have stood out. Should the trio have a poor day at the office, it takes the fizz out of the Gunners’ attack. Despite adding Leandro Trossard, there is still work to be done before Arsenal are genuine contenders year in and year out.
Frankfurt have the player signed on until 2026 and would prefer to keep him on. However, they could be convinced to sell him for around €30-35m. It represents a fair price for a player with excellent potential and the ability to make a telling difference in the future.
A good dribbler, Lindstrom has the capability to make some Hollywood passes on the field. However, his overall passing ability and aerial prowess leave much to be desired. Rather than arrive as a bonafide star, he is likely to be another prospect on the Gunners’ roster who will aim to grow and develop within the team. Expecting him to impress from the word go might prove underwhelming, and a lot will depend on how Arteta can coax the best out of him.
An attacker has been on Arsenal’s agenda in the recent transfer windows. They failed to add Raphinha to the squad last summer and saw Chelsea steal Mykhailo Mudryk from under their noses in January. The Gunners will hope that bad things don’t happen in threes come next summer.
