Chelsea are willing to break the bank in order to sign 23-year-old Joao Felix on a permanent basis in the summer.
According to El Larguero via Cadenaser, Chelsea are interested in keeping Joao Felix at the club on a permanent basis. The Blues are prepared to pay big money in order to secure his services. A lot of clubs are interested in having Felix in their ranks and the London-based club don’t want to miss out on the Portuguese forward.
Ever since the arrival of the new owner Todd Boehly, the Blues have spent a fortune in signing new players. And, as per the reports they are willing to once again break the bank in the summer to strengthen their team further.
Boehly is set to pay the big bucks in order to provide Graham Potter with every possible asset that he can use to build a world-class team. They have already made quite a few big money moves in the summer. And, are expected to do the same ahead of next season. Chelsea loaned in Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in the recently concluded winter transfer window.
The 23-year-old has featured in two matches for the Premier League side and already has a goal to his name. He has already impressed the people at the club in his few outings. And, the club are ready to pay around €80 million in order to secure his services.
The Portuguese forward recently signed a new deal with the Madrid-based club before leaving them on loan in the winter. His new contract ends in the summer of 2027 which will make things a lot more complicated.
While Simeone was the one who signed Felix but he hasn’t been able to make full use of the winger. And, of late the Portugal international didn’t enjoy much game time under the Spanish coach. As a result, he decided to leave on loan.
Felix’s future will depend on Diego Simeone’s future at Atletico Madrid. If the manager succeeds in qualifying for the Champions League, he is likely to continue. And, Felix could leave the club. But, if he fails to deliver, Felix will most likely return to his parent club.
