Harry Kane is giving the ‘right signals’ about his intention to stay put at Tottenham amid speculation regarding his long-term future.
According to Caught Offside, Harry Kane could prolong his career at Tottenham instead of moving out for another rival. The Manchester United target’s contract expires in 2024, meaning he will have to make a huge decision on his future in the upcoming summer window.
Harry Kane’s future will become one of the big stories of the summer window when the striker enters the final year of his Spurs contract. The 29-year-old recently surpassed Jimmy Greaves’s scoring record to become Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Despite reaching the personal milestone, Kane does not have a single trophy to his name after spending his entire career in north London. Hence, joining another rival in the summer could remain on the cards for Kane in pursuit of titles.
As for Tottenham, they would love to keep him for the foreseeable future and offer him a contract that would see him spend many more years here. From Daniel Levy’s perspective, they may not want to sell Kane to their rivals, although the Chairman could entertain proposals from abroad.
Kane wants to continue playing in England as he has eyes on Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record. Manchester United are reportedly keen on the striker, as Erik ten Hag looks for someone who could elevate their striking options.
Kane is considered among a few other names like victor Osimhen. The Manchester United target will cost around £100 million, but clubs will remain wary of paying huge sums for the 29-year-old. Kane Does not offer longevity, but he will guarantee success in the short to medium term.
Yet, British agent, Haydn Dodge believes Kane has given out the ‘right signals’ regarding his intentions to continue at Tottenham. He told CaughtOffside about this and other things in an exclusive interview. He suggested Kane has a huge career decision on his hand, which will decide the next move.
Dodge said, “He [Kane] is actually giving off all the right signals when it comes to the prospect of staying, but I think that’s because his agent, who is his brother, isn’t strong enough to go head-to-head with Daniel Levy, so Kane has taken control of the situation a bit himself,”
“It’s becoming a strange situation because I’m not convinced any club will want to pay more than £60m or £70m for him now.”
Kane obviously will have plenty of other offers on the table, as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also chase his signature. However, those clubs will not pay what Levy might want for the star striker. Hence the idea of someone paying £60-70 million is viable for the 29-year-old striker.
