Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing 26-year-old French forward Kingsley Coman in the summer.

According to a report by Fichajes, Real Madrid are pondering over a move for Kingsley Coman in the summer of 2023. Los Blancos did not do any business in the recently concluded winter transfer window. They have their eyes set on the transfer window ahead of the next season. The Merengues have identified Coman as a potential signing.

Real Madrid have had a difficult past few weeks in all competitions. A lot of their key players have been injured which has hampered their season. The attack has not been able to produce the results demanded at a club like Real Madrid. They will now look for reinforcements in the summer.

With the new Santiago Bernabeu Stadium set to be completed in the last part of the year, expect Los Blancos to sign a few big players in the summer. Florentino Perez will once again try to land their biggest transfer target Kylian Mbappe in the summer. But, having failed once in the past, they are ready with a plan B.

Perez and his team have identified Kingsley Coman as an alternative to Mbappe. If they fail to land the Paris Saint-Germain star at the club in the summer, they will push for the signature of his compatriot Coman.

The 26-year-old forward joined Bayern Munich back in 2017 from Juventus. He has a contract with Bayern that will see him stay at the club until the summer of 2027. But, Real Madrid are willing to pay a sizeable price to acquire his services with over 4 years left in his new contract.

Coman has featured in over 250 matches for Bayern and has been directly involved in more than 100 goals. In the ongoing season, the World Cup finalist has featured in 19 matches and has eight goal contributions. While Perez might be interested in signing the forward, it does not really make sense given his struggles with injuries over the years.

Meanwhile, considering Coman as Mbappe’s alternative might not actually work in the club’s favor. Karim Benzema is 35 and he is not going to get any younger, the Spanish giants need a replacement for their second-highest goal scorer. They do need to add firepower to their attack but signing a forward who adds a lot of goals might be the right way ahead for Los Blancos.
