Barcelona have reignited their interest in acquiring the services of 34-year-old winger Angel Di Maria from Juventus.

According to a report by Fichajes, Juventus winger Angel Di Maria wants to leave the club in the summer. He is not interested in staying at the club and wants a new challenge. Barcelona have revived their interest in the 34-year-old World Cup winner. The Catalan giants want to bring the former Real Madrid player to Camp Nou.

Di Maria is a versatile player who can be used in different roles. And, over the course of his career, he has proven that he is a big match player. His impact in the UEFA Champions League, Copa America, and the FIFA World Cup finals prove his pedigree. A lot of clubs are interested in signing him in the summer.

The Juventus winger joined the club in the summer of 2022 from Paris Saint-Germain. But, as per the report he wants to leave ahead of the 2023/24 season. Di Maria has played for some of the biggest clubs across Europe and has done it time and again.

Before joining Juventus, he had featured in 295 matches for PSG. Di Maria was directly involved in 212 goals during his time with the French club. Since joining Juve in the summer, he has featured in only 17 matches and has contributed with three goals and five assists. Injuries have not been kind to him and have forced him to miss ten matches in all competitions.

Xavi is keen on signing the 34-year-old because he will add a new dimension to their attack. And, Barcelona will have a proven match-winner in their ranks. He will allow Xavi to rotate his wingers as well as add squad depth. With the future of Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, and Raphinha uncertain it seems to be a good move from Barcelona to try and acquire someone who has proved himself in La Liga.

However, it will be interesting to see if he joins Barcelona given his history at Real Madrid. Joan Laporta has tried to land the winger in the past few seasons but has failed to get the job done. He believes that signing Di Maria will be a great short-term fix for the club. There is interest from Atletico Madrid and Napoli for his services. So, it won’t be a cakewalk for Barca to sign the former Los Blancos star.
