Tottenham are chasing Atletico Madrid duo Jan Oblak and Yannick Carrasco to strengthen key positions in their squad.
According to MARCA, as relayed by Sport Witness, Tottenham are eyeing a double raid on Atletico Madrid for Jan Oblak and Yannick Carrasco. The north Londoners want to add those players to strengthen key positions that have raised questions this season.
Tottenham will enter the summer market to strengthen their squad sufficiently for the new season. Whether or not Antonio Conte remains at the club beyond the current campaign, the club will seek to sign players reminiscent of the current system.
Tottenham managed to sign Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal and secured a late deal for Pedro Porro from Sporting CP. The latter strengthened the key right-back position that Conte was bemoaning about for a long time. In the summer, they would like further reinforcements on the other flank.
Tottenham already have a deal for left-back Destiny Udogie in the pipeline, and he will join up next season. They might also look for another option to completely move away from current stars Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic. For this purpose, they want Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco, who could become available at a reasonable price.
Carrasco was keen on a move away from Atletico Madrid in January, with Barcelona coming close to signing him in January. He stayed at Atletico and may look for a departure in the summer. The Belgian international might get intrigued by Premier League interest and seek a move to England.
Tottenham are also keen on Jan Oblak. The keeper is a key component for the La Liga giants, but they might sell if the offer is right. The Slovenian has a contract until 2028, so Atletico might demand significantly for his sale.
Spurs are seemingly tired of Hugo Lloris and want to get rid of the Frenchman in the summer. They might see Oblak as a good option to succeed the current Spurs captain. The Slovenian has seen a dip in form in the last 18 months, but he might benefit from a change in scenario.
A double raid for the duo would see the La Liga giants demand significantly, although Spurs may have the budget to execute this operation. The two stars would significantly improve problem areas in the squad, as Tottenham could have a good side starting next season.
