Manchester United ready to finalise Marcus Rashford deal

Manchester United are set to agree on a new contract with star forward Marcus Rashford

According to a report by GiveMeSport, Manchester United are all set to agree on a new contract with English international Marcus Rashford. The Manchester-based club have been trying to extend their star players’ contract for a while now. And, it looks like they are set to agree on a deal that will see him earn around £300,000 per week.

The 25-year-old has been in sensational goal-scoring form of late. He has been leaving defenders in his wake, running past them smashing the ball into the net time and again during the ongoing season.

Rashford has been one of the most important players for United this season alongside summer signing Casemiro. Extending his contract at the club has been a top priority for the board and as per reports, they have agreed on terms with Manchester United’s number 10, and he is all set to put pen to paper.

In the ongoing season, Rashford has featured in 31 matches and has been involved in 26 goals. He has scored 18 of those and created the remaining 8. Ever since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from the club, the English international has stepped up and filled the void left by the Portuguese.

Contracts of Rashford, Fred, Luke Shaw, and Diogo Dalot were all set to expire in the summer of 2023. But, Manchester United had the option to extend them by another 12 months, and they decided to do so even before the start of the winter window.

While there is an over a year left in the 25-year-old’s contract, Manchester United want to sign an extension deal with the star forward before the season ends. The Manchester United academy graduate is currently on a weekly wage of £225,000 per week. And, Manchester United have offered him £300,000 per week for another five years at the club.

Manchester United are currently third in the Premier League. And a lot of credit goes to Marcus Rashford for their position in the points table. As far as securing him for another five years goes, United have done a great job. Rashford is likely to be one of the best of his generation and can lead the Red Devils going forward.
