Chelsea have asked Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech to look for alternatives after his deadline-day move to PSG collapsed.

Chelsea were in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential loan move for Hakim Ziyech on transfer deadline day. But, the deal couldn’t go through because of a technical glitch at the Blues’ end. According to a report by 90min, Chelsea have permitted Hakim Ziyech to look for alternatives.

The London-based club were all set to say goodbye to the Moroccan winger. Ziyech was ready to join PSG on loan in the winter transfer window. But, unfortunately, the technical glitch didn’t allow papers to be signed on time. It did leave PSG furious and they have accused Chelsea.

PSG have not only accused the Blues of making several inexcusable mistakes. These mistakes resulted in a delay in completing the move. The French defending champions appealed to France’s Professional Football League (LFP) for the technical issues but since no paperwork was signed they couldn’t help their cause.

It forced Ziyech to return to his club. But, there has been a new development as Chelsea have allowed the Moroccan winger to look for opportunities elsewhere. While transfer windows in most countries are closed, there are a few possible destinations for Ziyech. The former Ajax player has been asked to meet with clubs and look for a potential destination.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalist hasn’t had much game time in the ongoing season. In his 15 appearances this season for Chelsea, he has only played just over 600 minutes. He has only contributed to one Chelsea goal in this campaign.

Despite his heroics in the FIFA World Cup 2022, he is unlikely to get much game time at Chelsea. As a result, a move away from the club makes sense. But, it will be interesting to see which clubs show interest in him.

According to 90min, Ziyech has received interest from Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Clubs are ready to acquire his services. But leaving Europe at this stage of his career will be a tough decision for the player.
