Big Sharks across Europe will prepare to bid for Declan Rice, as West Ham United are ready to cash in on their star midfielder.
Declan Rice is one of the most sought-after midfielders in the world. And according to Football Insider, West Ham United are willing to listen to offers for Declan Rice. The 24-year-old is on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs across Europe, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
Five of the Big Six clubs in the Premier League are keeping a close eye on Rice. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United are all interested in signing the 23-year-old midfielder. They have the finances to get it done. But it will be difficult, considering the number of teams that have shown interest.
The West Ham captain has rejected multiple contract extension offers and is seeking a move to a UEFA Champions League club. While he will not be moving in the ongoing transfer window, a move ahead of the next season is highly likely if a club meets the asking price of around £80 million.
Rice’s current contract with the Irons expires in the summer of 2024. But West Ham have the option to extend it for another 12 months. Back in the day, the Hammers wanted over £100 million for the Englishmen. But his price tag has fallen because of his contract running down.
Rice made his debut for West Ham at the age of 18 back in 2017. Over the past six years, he has featured in 187 Premier League games. In the ongoing season, Rice has played twenty six matches in all competitions.
While all the big clubs in the Premier League will push for Rice’s signature. It might eventually boil down to which club can offer him Champions League football. According to reports, La Liga giants Real Madrid are also interested in the West Ham captain, which will make life difficult for the English clubs.
Liverpool and Chelsea might not feature in Europe’s premier competition next season. And it can hamper their chances of signing the £80 million star player. Arsenal and the two Manchester-based clubs will be in a better position to land Rice, as all three are likely to finish in the top four.
Recent reports have claimed that Arsenal will prioritise signing Rice in the summer. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old midfielder can be a long-term successor to Casemiro at Manchester United. But Chelsea will also push hard for his signature. For now, West Ham’s decision to sell has come as a boost for Rice’s big-name suitors.
