Fulham are reportedly interested in signing 28-year-old FC Twente right-back Joshua Brenet, who wants to move to the Premier League.

According to a report from Daily Express, Fulham have held talks with Dutch outfit FC Twente regarding a move for 28-year-old Dutch right-back Joshua Brenet. The player wants to move to the Premier League.

Fulham have been heavily linked with a move for the Arsenal defender Cedric Soares in recent weeks. And the Gunners have been hoping to sell the Portuguese international and recoup some money that could fund the transfer of Ivan Fresneda. However, Arsenal have now been dealt a blow as Fulham have switched their attention elsewhere.

Fulham manager Marco Silva is desperate to bring in a quality right-back this month, and Joshua Brenet has been identified as a target. The 28-year-old has done well for Dutch outfit Twente this season, and he could prove to be a useful addition to the Fulham backline.

The Cottagers currently have Kenny Tete and Kevin Mbabu as their right-back options. And Silva is keen to add more depth and quality to the position. Fulham have done exceedingly well in the Premier League this season, and they are seventh in the table. They will be hoping to secure European qualification and need to bring in the right reinforcements this month to finish the season strongly.

The 28-year-old Dutchman has shown his quality in the Eredivisie and will be determined to prove himself in the Premier League now. Apparently, Brenet had offers from other clubs as well. But the player has turned them down in favour of a Premier League switch.

Brenet dreams of playing in England, and it remains to be seen whether Fulham can get the deal across the line. For now, the Cottagers have held informal talks for the Dutch right-back. The 28-year-old will be expected to battle it out with Tete for the first-team spot during the second half of the campaign.

The competition for places will only help both players improve and give Silva more options to work with. It will be interesting to see if the Dutchman can settle in quickly at Craven Cottage and make an immediate impact in the Premier League.
