Liverpool set sights on Jesper Lindstrom

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Danish attacker Jesper Lindstrom from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to a report by Tipsbladet, Liverpool are keeping tabs on 22-year-old attacking midfielder Jasper Lindstrom ahead of a potential summer move. Apparently, Italian outfit Napoli are keen on signing the playmaker as well.

The Danish attacker has been in impressive form for the Bundesliga club this season, scoring eight goals and picking up two assists across all competitions. He could prove to be a useful addition to the Liverpool midfield next season.

It Is no secret that Liverpool need to add more quality and depth to their midfield and attack. And the 22-year-old would be a solid long-term investment. Working with a manager like Jurgen Klopp could help accelerate his development and fulfil his potential.

The Reds are expected to lose players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita at the end of the season. So they will need to bring in a number of midfielders at the end of the season.

They have been linked with players like Jude Bellingham, Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Sofyan Amrabat in recent weeks. Lindstrom would be an exciting young addition to the squad.

Liverpool have done well to nurture talented young players into established stars since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp. And they could have a similar impact on Lindstrom as well. The opportunity to play for Liverpool would be an exciting proposition for the player and he’s likely to be tempted.

The Reds certainly have the financial resources to tempt Eintracht Frankfurt into selling the player as well. However, the transfer is unlikely to be cheap. The 22-year-old has a contract with the Bundesliga club until the summer of 2026 and they are in a position to demand a premium for his services.

A move to the Premier League would be a major step up in the player’s career. And it will be interesting to see if he is prepared to snub a move to Napoli to join Liverpool. The Reds will have to strengthen significantly to challenge for major trophies once again. And it remains to be seen whether the club hierarchy are prepared to back Klopp in the transfer market with significant funds in the coming months.
