Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing 33-year-old Spanish midfielder Dani Parejo from La Liga club Villarreal.

According to a report from Fichajes, Aston Villa are keen on signing Dani Parejo. And the Premier League could make an irresistible offer to sign the 33-year-old Spanish midfielder from Villarreal.

Apparently, the Spaniard has a contract with Villarreal until the summer of 2024, and he could be available for a fee of around €12 million. Unai Emery knows all about the midfielder, having worked with him at Villarreal. And the Aston Villa manager is keen on a reunion.

The West Midlands club are thought to be keen on midfield reinforcements. And they have been linked with a move for French international midfielder Matteo Guendouzi as well. Parejo is highly experienced and has proven himself in La Liga over the years.

So the 33-year-old could potentially come in and make an immediate impact at Aston Villa during the second half of the season. But it remains to be seen whether Villarreal are prepared to cash in on a key player midway through the campaign.

Aston Villa have shown considerable improvement since the arrival of their new manager. But they will need to bring in quality players in order to finish the season strongly. Parejo has the ability to thrive in England and could add some much-needed technical ability and composure in the middle of the park.

The 33-year-old Spanish midfielder could be the Ideal partner for Douglas Luiz at Aston Villa. Although the 33-year-old will be a short-term addition, the West Midlands club could benefit from his arrival. Apart from being a quality player, he will add leadership skills to the Aston Villa dressing room as well. The reported €12 million asking price seems like a bargain.

So it remains to be seen whether Villa can get the deal across the line before the January window closes. The highly-experienced midfielder is at the peak of his powers and could be tempted to try out a new challenge at this stage of his career. The opportunity to showcase his ability in the Premier League could prove to be hard to turn down for the Spanish midfielder.
