Newcastle United are pushing to sign Youssoufa Moukoko in the current window, but Borussia Dortmund remains keen to retain the young talent.
According to Fichajes, Newcastle United are intensifying their efforts to sign Youssoufa Moukoko. The Magpies sense an opportunity with one of the brightest talents in European football. Borussia Dortmund, however, are keen to retain his services and do their best to extend his deal.
Youssoufa Moukoko is one of the talents many top clubs have set their sights on. However, the forward’s situation has become precarious with his contract at Borussia Dortmund. Things look bleak for the Bundesliga giants in their efforts to extend his deal.
Moukoko has seen rapid development with his stature and received a call-up to the German national squad for the World Cup. He is already considered the natural replacement for Erling Haaland, who departed in the summer and joined Manchester City.
The 18-year-old forward has plenty of suitors waiting eagerly to sign him on a free transfer in the summer, but Dortmund remain adamant about extending his deal. The German giants have made an incredible offer of €6 million net per season and plan to give him €10 million as a signing bonus.

There’s yet to be an answer from the 18-year-old forward. He may evaluate his options this month and ahead of the summer window. Chelsea were in the race momentarily and were willing to pay a sizeable amount to prise the striker away.
There may have been a feeling with the Blues that Moukoko was using them to get a better deal with Dortmund. However, since the Bundesliga side has made their best offer yet for the forward, and his reluctance pato sign it. The impasse opened the door for suitors willing to deal in January.
Newcastle United remain interested in Moukoko and are stepping up their chase of the 18-year-old forward. The Magpies are keen on signing a new attacker in this window and could look to sit down with Dortmund to understand the conditions of a transfer.
Finances may be fine for Eddie Howe’s side, and Newcastle United reportedly made a verbal offer to sign the 18-year-old forward. However, they are aware of Dortmund’s reluctance to negotiate a deal, as they remain hopeful of extending his contract.
Recent comments from Joachim Watzke indicated how delicate the situation is with Moukoko. Newcastle United could keep pressing on the issue and possibly try to make a move this month. The 18-year-old forward could become a solid acquisition and even raise his levels in England.
If Dortmund agrees to sell him, they will demand a sizeable fee in return. Newcastle United might remain open to investing in the 18-year-old forward, as this is a bargain deal.
