Juventus plotting part-exchange deal to sign Christian Pulisic

Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Christian Pulisic and might offer Denis Zakaria to Chelsea in the deal for the American.

According to a report from Calciomercatoweb, Juventus are ready to offer Denis Zakaria to Chelsea in a permanent deal so that they can sign American international Christian Pulisic at the end of the season.

Pulisic will be a free agent in the summer of 2024, and the Italian outfit believe that he has a similar valuation to that of the Swiss international midfielder. The 24-year-old American international has had a difficult time under Graham Potter and he has started just six league games for Chelsea this season.

Despite struggling at the club level, the underperforming Chelsea attacker was quite impressive during the recently concluded World Cup with his country. Pulisic scored a goal and picked up two assists in four appearances for the USMNT in Qatar.

There is no doubt that the 24-year-old is a highly-talented player with a big future ahead of him. Perhaps he needs a move away from Stamford Bridge to get his career back on track, and Juventus could provide him with that opportunity next season.

The Italian giants need to add more quality and depth in the wide areas, and Pulisic would be a superb long-term acquisition. The underperforming attacker is entering his peak years and could improve Juventus substantially in the final third. As for Chelsea, it will be interesting to see if they are willing to accept the exchange offer.

Zakaria joined Chelsea on loan at the start of the season and has impressed with his cameos so far. Chelsea will need central midfielders next season, especially with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante linked with moves away from the club. Both Chelsea midfielders will be free agents in the summer, and the Blues have not agreed on contract extensions with them so far.

Zakaria could be a useful player for Graham Potter in the upcoming seasons. And it remains to be seen whether Chelsea are prepared to keep the 26-year-old midfielder at Stamford Bridge permanently.

As for Pulisic, he has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs as well. And it will be interesting to see if the 24-year-old is willing to continue in the Premier League or pursue a move abroad by joining Juventus.
