Liverpool are keen on Yunus Musah as Jurgen Klopp looks at midfield alternatives in the window, while Arsenal and Chelsea also chase him.

According to Fichajes, Yunus Musah is a target for Premier League sides, including Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp has set sights on midfield alternatives after bowing out of the chase for Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez, as the club remains keen to add a player in the middle.

Liverpool are in the market for a new midfielder after many twists in the current window. The need for a central player is high after facing plenty of trouble with the current pack this season.

Jurgen Klopp continues to urge the club to enter the market for a new midfielder, but the correct options are few and far between. Liverpool were seemingly interested in Enzo Fernandez before it became clear Benfica would only entertain a bid worth his €120 million release clause.

Similarly, they may have left the race for top target Jude Bellingham. However, with Manchester City now in the race, the Borussia Dortmund star is likely to join Pep Guardiola’s side or Real Madrid, who may have become front runners.

Hence the need to switch targets and Valencia’s Yunus Musah is reportedly being considered as an option. The former Arsenal youth is also a target for his old club, while Chelsea reportedly keeps track of his situation.

Musah is coming on the back of a brilliant World Cup individually. His displays for the USMNT have grabbed plenty of attention from Premier League sides as Valencia braces for offers from clubs for the 20-year-old.

His profile certainly suits what Liverpool needs. The 20-year-old’s combative style and energetic presence would help Klopp immensely, but much will depend on his price tag.

If Liverpool are serious, they must remain wary of interest from Arsenal and Chelsea. However, the Gunners can consider themselves in an excellent position if they pursue the midfielder.

Chelsea could also re-enter the market after their pursuit of Enzo Fernandez collapsed. They have also shown a knack for big spending, which may become the case with Musah. However, like Liverpool, their players in the middle have underperformed in what has been an underwhelming season overall.

A long-term contract will protect Musah until 2026 and he has a huge release clause. His current value may be around €25 million, but Valencia could demand a significantly higher price if more than one club comes into the fray. How much the club would demand remains the question, but it could be within the reach of Premier League sides.
