Arsenal and Liverpool are set to battle for Martin Terrier in the summer, when the French attacker will likely leave Rennes.

According to Media Foot, Arsenal and Liverpool have enquired about Martin Terrier. The 25-year-old French attacker will likely depart Rennes in the summer. The forward has attracted plenty of interest from Premier League outfits, with more clubs likely to enter the chase as the season progresses.

Martin Terrier finished last season with admirable numbers scoring 21 times in 37 Ligue 1 appearances for Rennes. Those stats attracted plenty of interest in the summer, with Tottenham credited with a move for the 25-year-old French attacker.

Yet, Terrier remained at Rennes as many would doubt his consistency levels and ability to produce similar performances in another season at least. He has backed those claims with a stellar season, scoring 12 times across all competitions this term.

Premier League sides keep watch on his displays with suggestions a few could make a move in January. After selling Nayef Ageurd in a club record sale, Rennes remain uninterested in disrupting their season with another sale. But Terrier is unavailable for the long run due to an injury.

Rennes will want more than the €35 million they received from West Ham for the Moroccan defender, meaning Terrier will cost a huge sum. Figures between €35 million and €50 million should not be troublesome for Premier League clubs. The 25-year-old French attacker has plenty of suitors from England.

His style of play suits many clubs, and Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly made enquiries about his availability. There are suggestions he could become available in the summer, and the duo will likely keep tabs on his situation until then.

Arsenal are focused on signing Mykhaylo Mudryk in this window. Arteta could remain open to adding another prolific attacker to his ranks next season. Terrier’s technical levels will appease the Spanish manager, and the Gunners could explore a possible deal with Rennes.

Meanwhile, Liverpool, who only signed Cody Gakpo earlier this month, might enter the market for another attacker. They have other areas, such as midfield and central defence, as priorities for next season. If Terrier becomes an opportunity, Jurgen Klopp could open his doors.

Terrier would suit either of those teams at the very top level in England. His ability to get goals will become the major talking point when clubs look to sign him. Others like Tottenham and Manchester United could come into the picture next summer. Hence, a transfer battle could ensue for the Frenchman.
