Manchester United set to make Antoine Griezmann approach

Manchester United will target Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann as a part of their summer rebuilding plan.

According to Media Foot, Manchester United might be interested in a move for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann in the summer. The 31-year-old recently returned to his old hunting place from Barcelona.

Manchester United ripped apart Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract and have been relentlessly pursuing a forward capable of replacing his goals. But it is not easy to emulate his feat as the Portuguese striker is still regarded as one of the fiercest goal poachers of this era.

Erik ten Hag is very particular when it comes to selecting players. And he could approve of the 31-year-old World Cup winner’s skillset to initiate the proceedings. Griezmann redefined his gameplay with a more box-to-box role at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And he will only have Didier Deschamps to thank.

In the absence of N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, the France head coach tried to quench his aspirations by fielding Griezmann in the heart of the things. And the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has blossomed beautifully as he unlocked the French attack in a unique style.

Another angle of his versatility was on offer for interested parties, And Manchester United have set their sights on the 31-year-old. Griezmann will be a free agent at the end of this season. And there won’t be a dearth of suitors as it seems. The Red Devils, in particular, seem interested and will approach the veteran attacker soon.

The former Real Sociedad man rebuffed an offer to don the Manchester United shirt in 2017. But current circumstances might interest him to reconsider his position. Manchester United have shown promising signs of recovery. And Griezmann can be a part of ten Hag’s passionate project.

Atletico Madrid are unlikely to offer him an extension. And a player of his calibre deserves to play in the Premier League at least for once in his career. There have been significant changes in Manchester United’s transfer policy since ten Hag took charge. And the recent acquisitions could be a sense of that positive outlook.

Players like Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez have proven to be majestic signings for Manchester United. And Griezmann could only enhance that quality. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid teammate Joao Felix remains on the Red Devils’ radar. But it will be interesting to see if the 31-year-old World Cup winner moves to Old Trafford in the summer.
