Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing 19-year-old Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott.

According to Ben Jacobs, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign 19-year-old Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott. And the north Londoners will face competition from Leeds United for the English prodigy.

The 19-year-old midfielder is highly rated in English football, and he has a big future ahead of him. He could prove to be a quality long-term investment for both Premier League clubs. And it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.

Apparently, Bristol City are open to selling the talented young midfielder this month. But they will demand a fee of around £12 million. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay the asking price for Scott in the coming weeks.

It is no secret that Tottenham need to improve their midfield department, and Scott can be a useful option for Antonio Conte. The 19-year-old has been an important player for the Championship outfit this season and will add some much-needed craft to the midfield. Scott is an accomplished passer of the ball. And he has the ability to drive the team forward and beat players in the middle of the park with his dribbling skills.

Tottenham are in desperate need of someone like him. But it remains to be seen whether the 19-year-old can adapt to the Premier League if the transfer goes through. There is no doubt that Scott is a prodigious talent with a bright future ahead of him. But he might not be ready for the step up to the Premier League just yet.

The 19-year-old needs regular football to continue his development and fulfil his potential. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to give him first-team assurances before signing him. Spurs have also shown interest in other midfielders, like Azzedine Ounahi.

Scott cannot afford to sit on the bench at a top club and a move to Leeds could be ideal for the player, in theory. Jesse Marsch needs to bring in reinforcements this month, and the 19-year-old could be an important player for Leeds during the second half of the campaign.

The reported £12 million asking price is affordable for both Tottenham and Leeds. And Scott certainly has the potential to justify the outlay in the long run. But the two clubs also face stiff competition from other Premier League clubs like Brighton & Hove Albion, Bournemouth, Leicester City, and Wolverhampton Wanders.
