It is no secret that Tottenham need to improve their midfield department, and Scott can be a useful option for Antonio Conte. Tottenham are in desperate need of someone like him. But it remains to be seen whether the 19-year-old can adapt to the Premier League if the transfer goes through. There is no doubt that Scott is a prodigious talent with a bright future ahead of him. But he might not be ready for the step up to the Premier League just yet.
The 19-year-old needs regular football to continue his development and fulfil his potential. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to give him first-team assurances before signing him. Spurs have also shown interest in other midfielders, like Azzedine Ounahi.
Scott cannot afford to sit on the bench at a top club and a move to Leeds could be ideal for the player, in theory. Jesse Marsch needs to bring in reinforcements this month, and the 19-year-old could be an important player for Leeds during the second half of the campaign.
The reported £12 million asking price is affordable for both Tottenham and Leeds. And Scott certainly has the potential to justify the outlay in the long run. But the two clubs also face stiff competition from other Premier League clubs like Brighton & Hove Albion, Bournemouth, Leicester City, and Wolverhampton Wanders.
