Chelsea are willing to hijack a deal for Borussia Dortmund forward Youssoufa Moukoko next summer.
As per Fichajes, Chelsea have acted fast in the last few hours and are ready to put up a substantial offer for Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko. The 18-year-old’s current contract will run down in the summer and he will be able to sign for any club on a free transfer.
Chelsea have been one of the busiest teams in this ongoing transfer window and they have already announced their first arrival as Benoit Badiashile who has signed a seven and half years contract at Stamford Bridge.
Moukoko joined the Dortmund academy back in 2016 and came through various ranks at the club before bursting onto the scene this season. His antics in front of the goal also earned him a maiden call-up to Germany’s Wild Cup squad.
Barcelona have been credited with an interest in the player as their current financial position has forced their hands to use the free market more profusely. The club is believed to be on the front foot while negotiating a move for the youngster but Chelsea have now interrupted the proceedings.
The Blues have the financial prospect to better Barcelona’s offer and new sporting director Christopher Vivell is adamant to bring the player to West London.
There has already been a new contractual offer on Dortmund’s behalf which is in the region of €5 million per season but Chelsea are ready to offer him a much better pay packet. They also want to add some more leverage to the deal and will further pay a handsome bonus to his representative if the player does arrive at the club next summer.
There is no intention of the club to sign the player in January and they are confident of getting the deal done. Moukoko has shown tremendous potential this season as he also became the youngest scorer in the Der Klassiker.
Co-owner Todd Boehly already bankrolled the summer window and he will be injecting more funds to bring in more stability under the stewardship of Graham Potter.
