Leeds United are vying for the service of FC Luzern starlet Ardon Jashari and could make an attempt to snatch the player in January.
As per Sky Germany, Leeds United have been credited with an interest in Swiss defensive midfielder Ardon Jashari in the winter transfer window. The 20-year-old is also attracting interest from various sides.
The midfielder was seen in the World Cup donning the Swiss jersey and could be on the verge of wrapping up a sensational swoop for the youngster. The Swiss midfielder is currently the captain of his side and also made a cameo in the World Cup this time around.
He has been involved in 17 matches for his club and Leeds seem to be quite convinced about his talent. The midfielder is best suited when he is deployed in the deep-lying role but he is also capable of playing in other midfield positions.
A meagre amount to the tune of £6 million would be sufficient for the midfielder who has a contract till 2026. He will not be slotted directly to the team and Jesse Marsch might need to do some polishing before unleashing him in the Premier League.
Leeds will not have a smooth path as Napoli and Celtic are also interested in the player. The Whites are quite well-stacked in the midfield but given the current complexities of the fixtures, the manager would want more bodies at his disposal.
Jashari burst onto the scene this season and it has taken very little time to attract attention from top European clubs. He is comfortable on the ball, has leadership qualities and has been likened to Borussia Dortmund’s star midfielder Jude Bellingham.
Leeds are confident of reaching a deal as the young midfielder hasn’t gotten much exposure and Elland Road could be the perfect platform for the 20-year-old to showcase his talents.
He could follow the path of Italian Wilfried Gnonto and could be the next big thing in the English top flight. It remains to be seen whether he manages to get the next big step in his brief career next month.
