Arsenal have lined up a fresh proposal for Mykhaylo Mudryk after Shakhtar rejected their opening bid for the 21-year-old attacker.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Arsenal are set to launch a second bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk in the coming days. Shakhtar Donetsk rejected an earlier offer from the Gunners, as negotiations will continue between the sides to find a middle ground.

Shakhtar Donetsk continues to hold their stance and demand a significant fee for Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Ukrainian outfit consider the 21-year-old attacker a generational talent and are unwilling to succumb to the pressure from big clubs interested in the winger.

The club have publicly stated their desire to get a fee close to what Manchester United paid for Antony. Arsenal are the clear front runners for Mudryk, and the player’s desire to join them is no secret. Mikel Arteta wants a new wide attacker; the 21-year-old is his clear target.

During the West Ham game, reports suggested Arsenal had lodged the first bid for Mudryk. Notable journalists confirmed the offer, and the Gunners had offered €40 million plus bonuses of €20 million. The winger then posted a picture of him watching the game on his Instagram, clearly hinting at his preference.

Since then Shakhtar have publicly demanded more than that offer, and the Ukrainian side rejected Arsenal’s bid. Talks were always expected to continue, which could lead to a second bid in the coming days. They continue to value Mudryk at a higher price.

The Gunners are unlikely to go anywhere near the figure Shakhtar want. The suggestion is the Ukrainian club want more in base fees. Arsenal are now set to submit a new offer or around €50 million plus bonuses.

The Gunners are also wary of growing interest from rival clubs. For now, the club and Mudryk want the same thing and things could begin to move in Arsenal’s favour, as Arteta will continue to push for the player. They will hope to reach an agreement with Shakhtar in the coming days.

Arteta hopes to wrap up the signing swiftly as Liverpool did with Gakpo. Unfortunately, there’s too much noise in the media regarding the Mudryk interest and Shakhtar will use it as leverage to get the best deal possible.
