Liverpool joins the race to sign Samuel Chukwueze, with Arsenal featuring among the clubs keen on the Villarreal forward.

According to Fichajes, Samuel Chukwueze is attracting plenty of interest from Premier League sides as Liverpool joins the chase for the Villarreal forward.

Samuel Chukwueze could become Villarreal’s record sale if Premier League sides cough up their €50 million asking price. The Nigerian forward has put in impressive displays for the La Liga outfit this term, attracting plenty of interest from the English sides.

Former Villarreal boss Unai Emery already wants to bring the Nigerian to Aston Villa, while Arsenal are also keen. Villarreal’s €50 million asking price could pose a problem for those teams looking to negotiate with the Spanish side.

Villarreal are not looking to sell him for a reduced sum, meaning only a handful of teams could invest huge sums in acquiring the forward. The Gunners remain in the market for a young winger and may look at Chukwueze as an option. Their priority target is still Mykhaylo Mudryk, as they have placed a first bid for the Ukrainian international.

Now, Liverpool have reportedly entered the chase for the Villarreal star. Having only signed Cody Gakpo from PSV ahead of January, Jurgen Klopp remains open to adding further attackers to his squad. Chukwueze is a young, rising star with a bright future and could be developed into a top talent at Liverpool.

The Reds are currently stacked with good attackers, but if someone leaves in January, space could open up for another player like Chukwueze. Liverpool are unlikely to pay up to €50 million for the Nigerian, and they will hope to negotiate the price down with Villarreal.

Liverpool currently have Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota injured and faces plenty of problems with limited attacking options. Chukwueze could come in and bring quality and depth. He has already proven his worth in Spain, but the English league might prove difficult.

Liverpool might only be glancing towards the Arsenal target for now, as none of these sides are likely to make a concrete proposal in January. In the summer, their stance could change as both sides might look to reignite their interest in the forward.
