Tottenham will be open to offering Japhet Tanganga in a deal to sign World Cup finalist Adrien Rabiot from Juventus next month.

According to a report from Calciomercatoweb, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Adrien Rabiot in January. And the north Londoners could look to include 23-year-old defender Japhet Tanganga in a deal to convince Juventus.

The 27-year-old central midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season. So the January window will be the last opportunity for Juventus to recoup some money for him. It remains to be seen whether they can agree on a fee with Tottenham for the French international.

The report claims that Juventus are open to accepting Emerson Royal in a part-exchange deal for Rabiot. But Tottenham are not keen on letting the right-back leave midway through the season. The north Londoners are already lacking in depth and quality in the right-back department. So it is unlikely that Antonio Conte will want to weaken his squad in that department.

Spurs are instead prepared to sweeten the deal by including Tanganga. And it remains to be seen whether Juventus are ready to accept getting the 23-year-old in a deal for the World Cup finalist. Tanganga has not had regular game time at Tottenham and needs to leave to get his career back on track. Moving to Italy could be ideal for him right now.

As far as Rabiot is concerned, the 27-year-old will add some much-needed depth and variety to the Tottenham midfield. He was excellent at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with France and helped his country reach the finals of the competition, where Argentina beat them.

Rabiot has been linked with a move to the Premier League for years now, with Tottenham one of his current suitors. And it will be interesting to see if he can finally secure a transfer to an English club in the coming weeks.

Tottenham are currently fourth in the Premier League table and will be hoping to secure UEFA Champions League qualification. Antonio Conte knows he will need to strengthen his squad, especially with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United breathing down their necks.

Rabiot is at the peak of his powers right now and could make an immediate impact at the London club. He has the technical ability and the physical attributes to thrive in English football. Furthermore, the 27-year-old is likely to be available for a reasonable fee because of his contract situation.

The transfer seems like a no-brainer in theory, and Tottenham must do everything in their power to pull it off. The player has been offered to Premier League rivals Arsenal as well. So it will be interesting to see if Spurs can secure the services of the World Cup finalist in a part-exchange deal involving the 23-year-old Tanganga.
