Everton are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Italian defender Fabiano Parisi from Empoli.

According to a report from Pianeta Empoli, Everton are among a host of clubs interested in signing 22-year-old defender Fabiano Parisi, and they could present an official offer soon.

The player is thought to be on the radar of a number of Italian clubs as well, including the likes of Inter Milan, Napoli, Lazio and Juventus.

It will be interesting to see if Everton come forward with a concrete offer for the player in the coming weeks and lure him away from Italy. Parisi is naturally a wing-back and he can operate as a left-sided winger as well. His versatility could make him an asset for Frank Lampard if the Toffees manage to secure his services.

Everton will need to add more depth and quality to their squad, and Parisi could compete with Vitaliy Mykolenko for the starting berth. Frank Lampard could use both players in his starting lineup as well, depending on the opposition. Mykolenko could start as the left back, and Parisi could operate as a defensive winger, adding more cover to the back four.

Everton have had a mediocre start to the season and will hope to turn things around in the second half of the campaign. It will be interesting to see if Lampard can turn things around in the coming weeks and help Everton finish in the top half. The Toffees were embroiled in a relegation battle last season and could be in a similar situation this year as well unless they improve considerably.

Meanwhile, the Empoli defender has a contract with the Italian club until the summer of 2025 and he is unlikely to be an inexpensive signing. It remains to be seen whether Everton are prepared to pay the asking price for the player. But Parisi is not the only left-sided defender on Everton’s radar, with Sergio Akieme also emerging as a target.

Also, the interest from clubs like Juventus and Inter Milan in the 22-year-old could be worrying for the Merseyside club. Parisi might be open to continuing in Italy and joining a big club like Juventus or Inter Milan instead of moving to Goodison Park.
