Arsenal are unwilling to fulfil the salary demands of Adrien Rabiot as the Juventus midfielder has been linked with a move to North London.

As per Repubblica, the exorbitant wage demands of Adrien Rabiot could pose a significant threat to his potential transfer to Arsenal. The Gunners are pretty keen to snap up a move in January for the in-demand midfielder.

Rabiot proved to be Didier Deschamps’s preferred choice in the midfield alongside Aurelien Tchouameni at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as France built their momentum from the start. But Les Bleus lost to Argentina in the penalty shootout.

The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has been instrumental to Juventus’s revival as he has been an ever-present for the Bianconeri this term. But he will be a free agent in the summer, and the Italian giants do not want to lose him for free.

Manchester United came very close to agreeing on a move for the player in the summer. Having steered themselves away from a deal for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, they quickly shifted their focus to the Juventus player.

But the 27-year-old’s mother, who also happens to be his agent, was seeking a huge pay rise which the Red Devils did not want to entertain, and they shunned the transfer. Meanwhile, Arsenal are said to be interested in acquiring the World Cup finalist’s service as Mikel Arteta wants more options when the Gunners resume Premier League action.

Their inability to reach the top four last season haunted them for a long time. And Arsenal are determined not to repeat the same mistake. The Emirates will likely welcome a few players next month as they will push for a more relentless approach as the season moves forward.

Juventus have slapped a price tag of €15 million on the 27-year-old which could be negotiated as Arsenal are unlikely to sanction that much amount for a player who is on the verge of being a free player. In addition, Rabiot is looking to pocket a whopping €10 million in wages if he joins Arsenal.

But the north London club will not be able to match that offer. Sufficient negotiations need to be done as both parties will have to sort out their differences as soon as possible. It will be interesting to see if Rabiot alters his wage demands to seal a January move to Arsenal.
