West Ham United are in talks with Manchester United to sign Aaron Wan Bissaka on a loan deal with an option to buy.
According to Caught Offside, West Ham United are looking to sign Aaron Wan Bissaka on a loan deal from Manchester United. The two clubs are in talks to agree on a deal for the outcast as David Moyes enters the market for a new right-back.
Aaron Wan Bissaka was primed to have a great future as a right-back for Manchester United and England. The former Crystal Palace star enjoyed a stellar start to his career at Old Trafford, but things soon began to fall out of place.
For starters, the 25-year-old was playing regularly in a Manchester United team that was terribly out of form but somehow conjured up results to continue playing in Europe. Then the return of Diogo Dalot from his loan spell last season effectively snatched Wan Bissaka’s place.
The Portuguese international is currently preferred to the 25-year-old full-back, and Erik ten Hag’s non-selection of Wan Bissaka has led to speculation regarding his future. Many clubs, including Leeds United, Wolves, and West Ham United, are keen on the full-back.
Crystal Palace are also linked, but the Hammers are taking steps to secure the signing. David Moyes is reportedly looking at options at right-back after reports of Vladimir Coufal departing in January emerged. The Czech star has been a good performer, but West Ham would like an upgrade.
Wan Bissaka would suit Moyes’ style and need for a full-back capable in dire one-on-one situations with some of the top forwards in the Premier League. The 25-year-old, with some of his performances for Manchester United, has shown his capabilities in that aspect.
West Ham are talking with Manchester United over a loan deal with an option to buy him permanently during the summer. It will be a good deal for the Hammers to get a player with huge potential and a long future ahead of him, particularly considering he possesses tremendous experience at the top level.
How much Manchester United would demand from the Hammers once the loan deal ends remains the question, although it will be nowhere close to the fee the Red Devils paid to Palace many seasons ago. Wan Bissaka, for his part, hopes to have a good time at the London Stadium and move permanently away from Old Trafford.
