West Ham United are looking to improve their defensive department by signing Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

According to a report via Caught Offside, West Ham United are looking to sign Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan in January.

The 25-year-old right-back, who arrived in a deal worth around £45 million, has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and he is no longer a key starter for Erik ten Hag. The former Crystal Palace defender will likely leave Manchester United to play regularly and a move to West Ham could be ideal for him.

The Hammers are expected to lose Vladimir Coufal soon, and Wan-Bissaka could be his ideal replacement at the London club. The 25-year-old arrived at Old Trafford with massive expectations. But he has not been able to justify the £45 million move.

Although Wan-Bissaka has been a reliable defender for Manchester United, his lack of output going forward has forced the club to look at other options for the starting right-back role.

Currently, Portuguese international Diogo Dalot is the first-choice right-back at Manchester United. And the 23-year-old has proven to be a more well-rounded option at the back for the Red Devils. Wan-Bissaka needs a move away from Manchester United to resurrect his career, and West Ham could certainly provide him with that opportunity.

Given the way David Moyes likes to play, Wan-Bissaka could thrive at West Ham. Moyes’s conservative approach could bring out the best in the Manchester United defender. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a deal in the upcoming window now.

Manchester United will look to improve their squad during the January transfer window, and they might be keen on getting rid of fringe players. In addition, the Red Devils want to add a right-back, with Jeremie Frimpong among their targets.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will have to bring in a quality attacker after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. And Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s exit could certainly help the Red Devils bring in a new signing. As for the £45 million signing, it will be interesting to see if he joins West Ham United in January.
