Liverpool are interested in signing the AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer.
According to a report from Relevo, the Premier League giants are set to meet with the AC Milan star’s entourage in the coming weeks and they will be hoping to entice him regarding a move to Anfield by explaining the club’s project to the player’s camp.
Bennacer has been a key player for Milan since joining the club in 2019 and his departure would come as a major blow for the Italian giants. However, the player has a contract until 2024 and Milan could be under pressure to cash in on the player at the end of this season.
The report from Relevo claims that Milan plan to offer the player a new contract and they have had meetings with his representatives. However, nothing has been signed yet. Liverpool will be hoping to take advantage of the situation and sign the player for a knockdown price in the summer.

Apparently, the Reds are looking to bring in two or three midfielders in the upcoming windows. Klopp has planned a complete overhaul of his midfield and Bennacer has been identified as one of the targets.
The likes of Jude Bellingham, Enzo Fernandez, and Sofyan Amrabat have been linked with moves to Liverpool as well.
A number of their players could leave on a free transfer in the summer and Klopp will need to bring in adequate replacements. It will be interesting to see if they can get the aforementioned players signed in the coming months.
Bennacer is entering his peak years and a move to Liverpool would allow him to show his qualities in a better league and he would get to play for a better team as well. Someone like Klopp, who has improved multiple players over the years, could help the Algerian international take the next step in his career.
The technically gifted midfielder will add press resistance, flair, and composure in the middle of the park for the Reds if the transfer goes through.
