Pedro Porro is a target for Tottenham as director Fabio Paratici is reportedly scouting the right-back personally.
According to Ojogo, Tottenham are keen on Pedro Porro, as they remain open to approaching. Spurs director Fabio Paratici is reportedly taking a personal interest and scouting him as the club searches for a new right wing-back.
Tottenham are in the market for a new right wing-back, and Antonio Conte is looking at several options. Antonio Conte is very specific about the kind of player he requires in the wing-back positions, as much of the attacking football depends on those players.
Conte remains unconvinced by his current options, particularly on the right side, as Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty are not considered optimum to the required standards. The former has had few disastrous performances while the latter was at times publicly questioned by Conte.
There’s also Djed Spence, who is yet to be tested or trusted by Conte despite Spurs paying a significant sum to acquire him in the summer. Spurs are looking at several options in the market to strengthen the position and bring in a new player.
Spanish full-back Pedro Porro is of interest to Spurs, who has been putting in some accomplished performances for Sporting CP this season. He has one goal and nine assists this season, which has alerted Tottenham, and he could consider making an offer in January.
The report suggests Director Fabio Paratici is reportedly taking an acute interest and scouting him personally ahead of finalising an approach. Sporting CP will remain adamant that interested clubs pay up Porro’s €45 million release clause and will accept nothing less.
There are other clubs interested in the right-back, but it may appear Tottenham are looking to push ahead with a move. The report also suggests Tottenham has concerns about the player’s fitness issues, having suffered many muscle injuries since 2019/20.
Considering Conte likes to play high-intensity football, Spurs have reportedly been in touch with Porro’s former employers Man City. Tottenham have asked the medical staff for more information, and if the review is positive, then table a bid.
For now, they remain interested, but any move will only materialise after further scrutiny. Porro could prove a fantastic option for Tottenham to cover a difficult position for Conte.
