Liverpool are eyeing up a January move for the Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix.

According to a report from Fichajes, Joao Felix is on Jurgen Klopp’s radar as the Merseyside giants looking to boost their attacking unit next month.

Felix has reportedly fallen out of favor with Diego Simeone and Atletico Madrid are prepared to cash in on the player. However, he is unlikely to come cheap and it will be interesting to see if the Reds are willing to fork out a sizeable fee for him.

The 23-year-old has had a difficult time at the Spanish club and he has not been able to live up to the expectations since his big-money move from Benfica.

Atletico Madrid are clearly looking to cut their losses on the player and it remains to be seen whether they can recoup most of what they paid for him. He has been linked with a number of English clubs recently.

Felix has struggled with the Spanish club this season but he seemed like a completely different player for Portugal in the World Cup. He was one of the best attackers for his country in the World Cup and the youngster will look to get his career back on track in the coming months with a move away from the Spanish giants.

Liverpool are in need of attacking reinforcements and Jurgen Klopp could be the man to unlock Felix’s potential. Klopp has nurtured a number of world-class attackers at Anfield since his arrival and he will be hoping to help Felix develop as well.

Luis Diaz is currently sidelined for several weeks with an injury and Felix would get regular game time at Anfield as well.

Felix has started just five La Liga matches this season and three Champions League matches. The 23-year-old has four goals to his name across all competitions for the Spanish outfit.

A move to Liverpool would give him the fresh start he needs right now. He would also get a manager like Klopp who will trust in his ability and allow him to develop at his own pace.

However, the Reds have other areas to reinforce as well and they might not be able to sign him if Atletico Madrid’s demands are unreasonable.
