Liverpool schedule second meeting with Sofyan Amrabat

Liverpool are set to step up their interest in Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat as they are scheduled to line up a second meeting with the midfielder.

As per Empire of the Kop, Liverpool are pressing hard in an order to conclude a deal for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. The 26-year-old has had a stellar World Cup campaign so far guiding his country to the semifinals where they will be pitted against France.

Not many were aware of Amrabat’s quality until this World Cup as the 26-year-old has been a silent warrior for his country shoring up the midfield. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be needing midfielders to fill the gap in his squad and a prompt decision to be taken pretty soon.

The Reds already had a round of talks with his entourage and further discussion will take place after the World Cup when the player will return from international duty.

With several midfielders set to leave next summer the Premier League giants might need more than one midfielder to address their concerns. Jude Bellingham has been their priority target but a holding midfielder could add some much-needed weight to their midfield options.

Eminent journalist Anas Bakhkhar insisted there have been interests from both sides and they are set for a second meeting very soon.

“Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp has met the agent of Sofyan Amrabat, we can also mention that his brother, Nordin Amrabat, who has been working on his brother’s career for a long time now, was also there and they both met with the coach.

“It was a very good meeting, it was positive and they will be meeting a few days after the end of the World Cup to see if the interest is the same for Jurgen Klopp.

“After his performances in Qatar, the interest shouldn’t change and there will be other meetings to see the demands of Fiorentina, also the demands of his agent – to see if that transfer will go ahead or not”.

Amrabat will enter the last year of his contract with Fiorentina next summer and perhaps this is the best time for the Serie A club to cash in on the player. He will also get a significant wage hike should he agree to join the club in January.
