Real Madrid have decided not to pursue Manchester United prodigy Alejandro Garnacho, who will be out of contract next summer.

According to a report by MARCA, as relayed by Sport Witness, Real Madrid have shifted their attention to other targets, and they are believed to be out of the race to sign Manchester United prodigy Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho’s rise to prominence has alerted a significant number of clubs, with Real Madrid being one of them. The Spanish champions have the knack of poaching young talents from other clubs, and they have been pretty successful following that trend.

The likes of Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, and Rodrygo Goes have grabbed their chances at the Santiago Bernabeu. And they currently three of the best young footballers in the game.

Meanwhile, Garnacho joined Manchester United’s academy from Atletico Madrid’s youth system for a sum closer to £300,000. And he has already displayed his talent by grabbing a place in Erik Ten Hag’s first team setup.

With Garnacho already severely polished in the Manchester United academy, the Dutch manager needed some convincing before finally giving him his much-awaited debut. The teenage prodigy has since then enjoyed a meteoric rise, and his goal against Fulham in the dying minutes of the Premier League game proved his mettle to achieve some greater things at Old Trafford.

The Manchester United manager already made the player aware of his wrongdoings, and it remains to be seen how he prefers to take up those in his career. The Red Devils are readying a new bumper contract for the player which will hike his wages considerably.

Born in Madrid, Garnacho has represented Argentina at various youth levels and was expected to be named in their World Cup squad after his explosive start to life under ten Hag. But he was not picked up in the squad. And if he continues to observe a similar situation, he might switch his allegiance to Spain.

It might be foolhardy if the teenage prodigy decides to join a new club as it could harm his development notably. Jadon Sancho’s dip in form and Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit could help him find his right spot in the team after the resumption of club football this month. And recent reports have claimed that Garnacho wants to stay at Manchester United. So a Real Madrid move might not have been possible anyway.
