Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old Argentine international Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham are prepared to sign Alexis Mac Allister. The north Londoners are in a four-way battle for the 23-year-old Argentine international, who has been impressive for club and country this year.

Alexis Mac Allister has established himself as a key player for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. And the player has carried that form into the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina as well. The 23-year-old central midfielder has six goals to his name across all competitions, and he could prove to be a quality addition to the Tottenham midfield.

Antonio Conte has quality players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur at his disposal. But the Tottenham manager is severely lacking in goals in the middle of the park. The arrival of Mac Allister will add goals and creativity to Spurs’ midfield.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can negotiate a transfer with Brighton in the upcoming windows. The 23-year-old is well-settled in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact at Tottenham if the transfer goes through.

The opportunity to play for a club like Tottenham would be a step up in the player’s career. And Mac Allister is likely to be tempted to join the north Londoners. Tottenham can offer him UEFA Champions League football as well.

For now, Mac Allister will be focused on the World Cup and he will hope to help his country go all the way in the tournament. Argentina have managed to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup, and they will take on Croatia in their next outing.

Mac Allister has scored once in the World Cup so far and will hope to make a defining impact in the semi-finals as well. The 23-year-old is still quite young, and will likely improve further with game time and experience. If Tottenham can sign him next year, they could have a quality long-term prospect on their hands.

The midfielder has a contract with Brighton until the summer of 2025, and the Seagulls are likely to demand a premium for his services. Furthermore, Spurs will face competition from European giants Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Juventus for the midfielder as well. But Mac Allister is not the only midfielder on Tottenham’s radar, with Franck Kessie being another target.
