Tottenham Hotspur are working on a deal for Denzel Dumfries and an agreement could be reached in January ahead of a summer move.
As per Sports Witness, Tottenham Hotspur might conclude a deal for Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries in January and the player could remain on loan at the Italian club for the remaining season.
Dumfries’ brilliant display against the USA could hand Inter a heavy windfall as his price has already risen multiple folds. The Nerazzurri would be looking to fetch a sum in the region of €60 million by selling his services in the coming month.
Spurs manager Antonio Conte has long been an admirer of the player who only joined the club back in 2021. The Dutch player arrived at the club as the replacement for current Paris Saint Germain right-back Achraf Hakimi and he has proved to be a bargain buy so far.
Inter are still pushing to be back in the business in the Serie A and they are reluctant to release an important player in the midst of the season which could hamper their progress.
Tottenham are ready to reach a settlement and the North Londoners will shed their intent to wait for the player until the summer. Negotiations might start very soon as other clubs are also lurking around for his signature.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are also considered to be avid admirers of the player and could provide stiff competition to Spurs for his service.
Tottenham currently have been using both Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty on the right side of the defence and at least one player will have to make way if Dumfries is to arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Primarily a right-back Dumfries can also be stationed in a further advanced role and the Premier League could be the ideal platform to showcase his talent. A number of Dutch legends already made the English soil their own. It would seem to be a big tipping point in his playing career and he needs to grab these chances to capitalise further.
