Manchester City have agreed to sign Sheffield United prodigy Kylan Midwood, beating Chelsea and Liverpool for the youngster.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have beaten a host of Premier League rivals, including Chelsea and Liverpool, to the signature of Sheffield United youngster Kylan Midwood. The teenage British prodigy is considered one of the prominent prospects in the UK, with the Citizens keen on developing him.
Sheffield United are set to lose a key talent from their youth sides as Manchester City have agreed to sign Under-15 star Kylan Midwood. The Premier League giants have had the player in their sights for quite a while, as they continue to target some of the brightest British talents everywhere.
Sheffield United have produced top talents over the years and have a cluster of former academy graduates featuring at the World Cup. Senegal will have Iliman Ndiaye feature against England, while Harry Maguire, Kyle Walker and Aaron Ramsdale are in the Three Lions’ squad.
The Blades will rue the prospect of their academy stars leaving without featuring for their first team. However, they are powerless in front of top Premier League sides using their powers to snatch the best talents away.

Midwood is the second player in recent times to leave the Sheffield United academy after reports of Will Lankshear joining Tottenham emerged. It will undoubtedly come as a blow for the Blades to lose teenage British prodigy Midwood in the same period.
The details of the deal are yet to come out, but there is hope Sheffield have inserted a sell-on clause in his contract to benefit in the future. Manchester City want to bring the young talent and develop him into a future first-team star.
Manchester City are also keen on other emerging British talents and have already signed Emilio Lawrence, who they have reportedly brought in from Everton after prolonged negotiations. Adding someone like Midwood would be a glossy affair for their academy, which has produced some notable talents over the years.
