Barcelona plot January move for Bruno Guimaraes

Barcelona are considering a January move for Bruno Guimaraes, although Newcastle United are unlikely to sell the Brazilian.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona are considering a January move for Newcastle United talisman Bruno Guimaraes. The Magpies consider him untouchable, but the Blaugrana could make a concrete approach in the next window.

Barcelona are in a massive financial mess as things stand, and the outside view is their situation will take plenty of work to balance the act. Yet, they remain linked with some of the most prominent players in the market without knowing how the Catalan giants can pull off operations.

The situation was no different in the summer, yet Barcelona spent vast amounts to sign critical targets. Those included Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde. Additionally, they signed several free agents on a decently high salary package.

The arrival of Franck Kessie was to shore up their midfield, but the Ivorian midfielder needs to contribute more to the cause. Reports insist Barcelona could sell the midfielder for a decent profit in January. He does have decent interest from Premier League club.

Barcelona want Newcastle United talisman Bruno Guimaraes to strengthen their midfield. The Brazilian international has had a brilliant time since joining the Magpies last January. He helped them to third place this season before the campaign paused for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Newcastle’s position in the Premier League and their form make them one of the favourites to finish in the top four. Hence the Magpies are unlikely to sell him so soon. They are hopeful of a more extended stay for the Brazilian international and could offer him a new contract.

Bruno Guimaraes is also attracting interest from Real Madrid, and now that Barcelona are keen, his head could turn towards Spain. There are also English clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea in the hunt for the Newcastle talisman. However, the Magpies may remain adamant over their stance.

Eddie Howe has created a brilliant team expected to challenge for honours from next season onwards. Hence, they feel the player is untouchable and will snub any approaches that come their way. Whether Barcelona will manage to afford him remains the question considering Guimaraes will have a massive price tag.
