La Liga champions Real Madrid reportedly want to sign 26-year-old German international Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich next year.
According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Leroy Sane is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions want to sign the 26-year-old German international from Bayern Munich next year.
Leroy Sane started his youth career at SG Wattenscheid before passing through the academies at Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen. And the player rose to prominence after turning professional with Schalke over eight years ago. And his stock skyrocketed after joining Manchester City in 2016. But after four seasons with the Citizens, he returned to Germany by moving to Bayern Munich.
The 26-year-old experienced teething problems at the Allianz Arena. But the German international has come into his own this season, amassing ten goals and six assists in 19 appearances. And Sane’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid being one of his prospective suitors.
Real Madrid might enter the market for a wide-attacking reinforcement in the summer transfer window. That is because Eden Hazard’s days at the Santiago Bernabeu seem numbered after a dreadful start to the season. In addition, Marco Asensio faces an uncertain future at Real Madrid after entering the final year of his contract.
But recent reports have indicated that Los Blancos might reward the Spanish international with a three-year contract. However, with Hazard likely to leave, Real Madrid might need to sign a wide attacker. Several players have thus emerged on the Spanish club’s radar, with Sane also being a viable target.
But Bayern Munich will likely fight tooth and nail to keep hold of the 26-year-old German international. Sane is starting to stamp his authority at the Allianz Arena. So it will be surprising if he leaves Die Roten next year. Meanwhile, the former Manchester City man is not the only Bayern Munich player on Real Madrid’s radar.
Jamal Musiala has also emerged as a target for Los Blancos. But Real Madrid might be unsuccessful in signing both players, who remain coveted at the Allianz Arena. However, it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can land Sane next year.
